This is a delicious Cooking Light spin for shrimp, fettucine and spinach. The red pepper gives it a distinctive flavor, but you must like this spicy version. Easy, quick, delicious, enjoy. This baked bean recipe has morphed over the years, taking the best of many different recipes while keeping it simple and full of flavor….enjoy.
2 TBS Olive oil
3 onions ( we prefer the green onions substituting 3 bunches) chopped
1 (16 oz) can kidney beans, drained
1 (16 oz) can chili beans, undrained
1 (16 oz) can pork and beans, undrained
1 small can green lima beans (we use 2…love limas)
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup catsup
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp prepared mustard
Saute onions in olive oil until soft. Mix with remaining ingredients. Bake at 350 for 1 hour, or slower oven for 2 hours.
