Delicious green bean recipe and oh so easy to prepare. I found it in “A Slice of Kentucky” cookbook. This is a great cookbook….enjoy.
Two 14 1/2 oz cans whole green beans
2 slices bacon
1/2 cup brown sugar
Garlic salt to taste
2 Tbsp butter, sliced
Rinse the green beans in cold water, drain. Place the beans in a coated baking dish. Cut the bacon into small pieces and place om top of the beans. Spread the brown sugar on top. Season with garlic salt and dot with butter. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, stirring often.
Trying it tonight! This will accompany creamed spinach and a herb risotto with a stuffed chicken roast filled with spinach, roasted red peppers and proscioutto and provolone. A very flavorful meal! The green beans will be for the girls. I will let you know we make out.
Hope you liked them. We do! Share your recipes. Sounds wonderful! Best wishes to you and your family for a wonderful holiday. The picture of the girls in the leaves is a classic! Love all the pics….and watching the girls grow up. So special!
